What is Mayfest?

Mayfest (Maifest) is the traditional German celebration of the arrival of spring dating back to 1874.

How is Mayfest funded?

Mayfest is funded by church, corporate and individual sponsors.  All proceeds go to benefit our communities through the Family Life Center.  Please go to flcnb.org for more information about the Family Life Center.

Volksmarch

What is a Volksmarch?

Volksmarch (Volksmarsch) means “people’s march.”  It is a noncompetitive walk and it’s not about the speed or the distance. Volksmarching is about getting out and enjoying nature. 

What is the cost?

All the Mayfest Volksmarches are FREE. Water and a snack will be provided at the end of the walk.

Who can do Volksmarches?

Everyone is welcome! It is a casual, free, and family inclusive event.

How is it done?

Walkers check in at the beginning of the walk at the Mayfest table, pick up and complete a Volksmarch Award Card and GO!  Once you have completed the course, return to receive a stamp on your Volksmarch Card and your commemorative bracelet (while supplies last!) Collect all three 

What do we get for completing Volksmarches?

Pick up a Volksmarch Card and collect your completion stamps at all Volksmarches you attend.  Completers will receive a commemorative bracelet (while supplies last!) and the first 100 Volksmarchers to complete one Volksmarch will receive a 2024 Commemorative Volksmarch Pin (only 100 made!)
